No. Race # Protesting   Protested Reason Hearing Status Jury Decision
1. BadPak (USA 88856) vs Redress - Race Committee Badpak received Mexorc sailing instructions, file name: SI_MEXORC_2024_150224 In this version of the SI's rule 14.2 reads: 14.2 A boat's series score will be the total of her race scores, excluding her worst score, except that the scores for races 5 and 8 will not be excluded and will count as 2 races each. Based on this scoring matrix, Badpak understod that the distance races would be heavily weighted; with double points scored and one inshore race excluded, the offshore component would be 4 races while inshore would be 3 races. Thus, Badpak submitted an offshore rating configuration with reaching strut and reaching sails. All other boats in ORR1 also submitted their certificates before the SI's were modified. No amendment to the SI's have been issued that would modify rule 14.2. But upon reading the Si's available on Yachtscoring.com, rule 14.2 has been modified to now read: 14.2 A boat’s series score will be the sum of her individual race scores. No scores will be excluded. This new scoring clause is heavily inshore based, with no discard & single points for each race. Closed RDG Badpak to be scored for event with rating from inshore rating certificate 43022-6.
1. 3 Groundhog Day (USA 50030) vs Westerly (USA 28520) Westerly clearly was at fault in a port starboard incident approaching the windward mark. Groundhog Day was close hauled and making the mark. When westerly approached on port and showed no sign of avoiding, Groundhog Day was forced to avoid contact by making a sharp right turn past close hauled prior to Westerly begin their tack away and towards the mark. The advantaged gained was so great that Westerly was able to round the mark, complete their one turn per the sailing instructions, and then set and sail off toward the favored side of the race course all while maintaining a greater advantage on Groundhog Day than prior to the foul. 08:45PM Closed DSQ Westerly for failing to comply with RRS 44.2
2. 3 Such Fast (USA 35020) vs Belat (MEX 007) Regarding incident shortly after the start of race. 08:00PM Closed RDG for race(s) #3 & #4 of average scores in inshore races (Races #1, #2, & #6.
4. 6 Velos (USA 22208) vs Groundhog Day (USA 50030) Velos and Groundhog Day were on opposite gybes approaching the leeward mark. 07:15PM Closed Protest withdrawn by Velos Groundhog Day agrees to 30% scoring penalty
5. 6 OLAS LINDAS (CAN 28) vs Redress - Race Committee Redress request for a moving windward mark in race #6 06:45PM Closed Redress is denied
