1. 1 Ocean (USA 7779) vs Amendment #1 stated the finish coordinates. As the first boat to finish we did not see the flashing strobe on the mark as it was laying in the water and the committee boat was very poorly lit for conditions. as we where approaching the coordinates published in the SI's we noticed that we had missed the location where the line was set. This error in an accurate lat /lon for the finish caused us approx 25 minutes to recover from. The timer on our GPS set for the stated coordinates had us finishing at 11:32. Assuming our finish time was 11:53 we are Therefore we are requesting redress for 21 minutes. 06:00PM Closed WITHDREW PROTEST
2. 1 Dire Wolf (USA 35035) vs We are requesting redress for the improper location of the committee boat and the poorly lite conditions of the finish line. We further are requesting redress because the committee boat after our finish changed the lighting sequence and level to “ better” indicate the finish line for subsequent boats. The additional lighting includes the use of pyrotechnics ( possibly flares) There were numerous boats who changed course and diverted from coordinate course finish. The boats we finished with had to sail back from the proposased finish to the set line. The same boats were witness to the lighting of the finish line. We are requesting redress for the .4 miles we had to redial to the finish as our compensation. We believe this caused a minimum impact of 5 min 06:00PM Closed PROTESTING PARTY DID NOT APPEAR AT HEARING
